"The Way Forward" - a facilitated session for members
On 24 March 2010, Martin Gilbraith from ICA-UK led a session to symbolically bring closure to our 10 year plan of 1997 and to celebrate its achievements.
We were asked to look to the future to see what difference we would like HA21 to make in Harrow over the coming three years in terms of social, economic and environmental sustainability.
This facilitated event was a ground-breaking initiative for HA21 and some committed members kicked off with an extremely lively discussion on the particular issues that we felt were important to us locally and in the wider context:
·Enhanced natural habitat
·Participation in local decision making
·Encouragement of local energy generation
·Raising awareness and understanding of sustainability
·More sustainable behaviour by people of all ages
·Reduced fuel poverty
·Reductions in C02 emissions
·Less waste
·More pleasant built environment
Under each of the headings we had created, we decided on important sub-issues that were pertinent to the future of HA21.
We will keep you posted about further developments.
